I listened to this book with my kids and they are the ones that would give this book a five star. They lived all the action and funny voices in this. For me - it seemed like a kid version of “Passengers.” It was very enjoyable.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected for a middle grade book. For a story that is basically Home Alone meets Passenger, Dan Wells writes a credible science fiction adventure, starring a personable twelve-year-old protagonist.

"Zero" (his nickname, because he doesn't like his given name) is one of twenty-thousand people being put in stasis for Earth's first interstellar colony. The ship will be sent on a 105 year journey to a habitable planet 20 light years away, and Zero and his family will

    The Passengers meets Home Alone.

This is a middle-grade, science fiction story about a kid versus an entire ship of space pirates. Zero is one of many individuals aboard a spaceship on it's way to colonize a new planet. While everyone is sleeping safely in their stasis pods, Zero's malfunctions and he is woken up only weeks into century -long the trip. Bad turns worse when a ship of space pirates hijacks the spaceship. It is up to Zero to stop them.

I had never read anything by Dan Wells, but I expected something good from this best-selling author. I was however, rather taken aback at how hokey the beginning was... complete with a "Star Trek" like, grandiose music score. Hahaha! Seriously though, it seemed that the author skimped on plot simply because it was written for middle readers. My husband was laughing at how idiotic it was to have an AI that was brilliant at navigation (by design), and yet completely incompetent at virtually everyt ...more

This was a refreshing little audio drama that I adored.

This was wonderful! Home Alone in Space - a full cast and sound effects brought this delightful story to life. What a pleasure.

A freebie Audio edition with full cast and a roughly 4 hour story.

Quite entertaining and I would have loved it even more if I were younger. The story is has a bit of the Home Alone movie theme but taking place on a colony ship just before it leaves the solar system. By that point everyone else is asleep except for Zero, our 12 year old protagonist who is awake by accident. At that point, pirates show up and the story takes off.

In contrast to Home Alone with a smarmy little kid, Zero is a smart

    4 Stars for Story

Great space adventure story about a kid named Zero. A malfunction caused Zero to be awakened from his pod early. A carefree exploration of the ship turns into a dangerous attempt to save the ship from pirates. Cool tidbits about space and life in on a ship are threaded into the story. A clever tale that kept me entertained from start to finish.
